When you look at a pro team's jersey, the crest is razor-sharp, down to the smallest text. How do they achieve that? It starts long before the printer turns on. It starts with the artwork file. At Xteamwear, we often ask clients for "Vector files," and a common response is: "What is that?" Today, we are clearing up the confusion to ensure your team looks crystal clear on game day.

The Problem: Raster Images (Pixels)

Most images you see online (JPEGs, PNGs) are Raster images. They are made up of a fixed grid of colored dots called pixels.

• The Limitation: Imagine drawing a face on a balloon. If you blow the balloon up (enlarge the image to fit a jersey), the face distorts and gets blurry. This is "pixelation."
• The Result: If you send us a small JPEG from your Instagram for a full-chest print, the edges will look jagged and unprofessional.

The Solution: Vector Graphics (Math)

Vector files (commonly .AI, .EPS, .SVG, or .PDF) don't use pixels. Instead, they use mathematical formulas to define lines, curves, and shapes.

• The Superpower: You can take a vector logo the size of a stamp and stretch it to the size of a billboard—or a XXXL jersey—and the lines will remain 100% smooth and sharp.

What If I Don't Have a Vector File?
